Beatles Now and Then

Post by dewaltdisney »

I was so disappointed with this hyped-up discovered version of a song that was originally never finished and released by the Beatles. I had read that the AI created video was superb etc etc. Well, I found the song to be a dirge and the video looked like a kid had done it for a school project. If this is AI we can rest easy about fears of World domination.

Is the AI scare another in the tradition of the Y2000 panic?

i have always been unhappy following the pack even from an early age
when i was in primary school the beatles where in the charts and i did not like them as everybody else like sheep where raving about them as soon as they where out off the lime light i loved them as it was my choice to like them
i was never a rebel simply just had my own direction and thoughts not guided by herd mentality -----

---- do i like the new single i dont know i havent listened to it as the sheep are in control --when the interest dies down i will listen without input from others and form my own opinion and probably keep it to myself

Strangely, when I played it for Mrs D yesterday I have to say it is growing on me. I guess it is an echo of former times when I enjoyed music. It is already at Number 1 in whatever the chart is these days. I loved the Beatles as they hit in the early 60's when I was 11. Prior to this, there was only Elvis Presley type music that did not interest me but She Loves You and Please Please Me really caught me and it was the start of one of the best periods in music ever. When we were on holiday this year a tribute Beatles group was on for the evening entertainment and everyone was singing along. Similarly, we went to see an ELO tribute band on Saturday where the aged audience were singing along and dancing. Will this happen with modern day music, I doubt it.

yes i suspect it will , its about the emoution you felt then as a kid , so i'm sure it will happen in the future
I have seen a few tribute bands , and they are really good , pink floyd , Beatles
not a great fan of the Beatles, Sargent pepper i liked
for me late 60's and most of the 70's are music for me growing up - 14 in 1970

Quite a bit of music i like over the decades and some great groups/singers

I haven't heard the song yet save for a few seconds that I caught on a news report so can't really comment on it . That said I found the Beatles a mixed bag , I thought they did some good stuff and some bad stuff. Probably safe to say all bands do that but if a band dumps a track and doesn't finish it it's because they had doubts about it. i
I very much doubt they thought "ooh this one's a classic , let's put it in the bin and release it in 40 odd years"...

I heard someone describing AI as similar to the human use of fire. Lots of good in that it can heat us , cook our food and let us clear land and work metals but at the same time it can have negative effects , it can kill and destroy too.
In the other thread I mentioned the flat earth stuff that has been appearing on facebook. In a similar vein I was looking at some very good AI created photos on Flickr and now I'm getting AI photos cropping up on facebook . Oddly enough a lot of it seems to be Emma Watson for some reason...

She is a robot isn't she, her acting seems to suggest that plus all the woke shite she goes on about.

The AI seems to give her the ability to change her body as well...
