Oven size

Post by Argyll »

I've seen an oven for sale but I'm slightly confused about the dimensions.

It states:

Dimensions (mm) (HxWxD)
594x595x567

Built-in Dimensions (mm) (HxWxD)
590x560x550

What's with two sets of dimensions? I have an oven cabinet 563mm wide but states 595mm in one and 560mm in the other. Dunno which is which.

I can only assume there's a lip at the front which is the largest size but the smaller size slides into the cabinet housing. Am I correct? I just want to make sure before ordering.

I would suspect one is for the oven the other is for the space required (carcass?) I would contact the seller to be sure.

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.

I'd hazard a guess that the built in dimensions are the physical size of the "main oven unit" that fits into the carcas and dimensions is including the face plate pannels with controls.
If you start to pull out your exisint built in oven you will see there is a "lip" around the unit that fits into the carcas (hope I've explained that OK?)

If the brand of oven is stocked by other suppliers then contact one of them to find out if the oven will fit in the gap. Very few ovens are a non standard size in my experience.
