Thinking about going all in on my handyman business to see if it takes off. I just wondered where you guys advertise. Obviously, I'd like to think after I got up and running it would be word of mouth but for the meantime I've put an ad on Facebook but I find it a bit of a nightmare to be honest with you.
Apart from word of mouth where do you think you get the most jobs from?
Yellow Pages called me a few months ago trying to sell but I'm not sure if YP is a thing anymore.

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.
If gloom had a voice, it would be me.

I have a FB page, a website and added myself to Google maps.
Most of my work is through word of mouth but from my monthly Google/website insights email the majority of traffic comes from a Google search. Most people seem to use Google to search for "handyman near me" and I always pop up on there as most of the others local to me aren't on Google maps.
It's free to do also.

If the lessons of history teach us anything it is that nobody learns the lessons that history teaches us.

The local church magazine. Just £30 a month and I get at least one job a month from it, often more. A few customers have said words to the effect of "I saw you in the church magazine so I knew you would be good / trustworthy / reliable..." and many people say something like "I've seen your van around and then I saw your advert in the church magazine and it reminded me to call you..." Also, most of the readers of the church magazine are old dears, and we all know what wonderful customers they make, plus they gossip with all the other old dears and show off about "their" decorator.
