Losing pressure advise

I've noticed recently that my Baxi boiler pressure is dropping every 3 weeks so I have to top it back up to around 2 (which rises to 3 when heating is on).
Firstly is this normal to be topping it up that frequently?

Last week by boiler was banging so British gas came out and cleaned the heat exchanger and I did mention to him that I needed to keep topping up the pressure and he said it was normal for Baxi but I only every remember topping the pressure up maybe twice a year in the past. I paid them £60 in the excess to fix the banging as I have a homecare plan.

Should I just leave it or should I be calling British Gas because I don't want further issues down the line with the pressure and it could be something he could have looked at when he was here or do you think it is normal for me to be topping up the pressure every 3 weeks?

You know the answer really, no it is not normal to re-pressurise every 3 weeks. The BG bod lied. They often do this as they either can't be bothered, or too much to do that day.

Not a plumber , but having had a similar issue
usually

(which rises to 3 when heating is on).

thats the relief valve working and we had water coming out the overfloow - relief pipe from the loft to roof

plumber replaced the pressure vessel , and fixed that issue - it was a separate unit - now all part of new combi boiler

Also eventually we found a dry joint in one of the pipes, this was after doing a refurb in the kitchen, however, before this our plumbing added a fernox leak seal product , which saved having to re-pressurise every few weeks

recently we had the system drained and a new combi boiler fitted and now its fine
