Erbauer planer/ thicknesser

Hi I was given an Erbauer thicknesser. Unfortunately the motor on it seems to have disintegrated. The model is an Erb052bte.
I know they are cheap units but I hunted for a replacement motor for it through screwfix and erbauer.
Has anyone had any success in finding spares for these machines. Or is there another model of planer with same motor.
I find it annoying that some companies sell products knowing they cannot offer an after sales parts supply.

Those planers are what is known as a badged type. A single manufacturer markets them with different logos as required by the buyers. I had a Fox planer thicknesser and the motor burned out after a lot of hard work over the years. I actually got a motor from Axminster as it was the same as one of their Jet models. A quick look on Google I found this Chinese supplier https://www.chansenmachinery.com/produc ... icknesser/ it looks very similar. You could send a picture of your motor and get a quote. You could also do an image search on Google for your motor by looking through and linking to a supplier that way. Scheppach and Metabo do very similar but their spares are stupid prices. Please note that a new Titan (same) costs £199 new at Screwfix so make an economic decision on the motor,

BA I looked at Solent when I was originally looking but they only seem to stock basics like blades, belts and switches all of which look generic. I was reading on another forum linked that it is nigh on impossible to get the motors. This is why I suggested the Chinese link. If the motor is out it might be possible to look at images and work back to a supplier.

yes they would need a warehouse the size off Portsmouth to keep full supplies off spares for all the brands they cover
