I have large msg boards down as the base floor on the 2nd level and I want to insulate below it. Problem is I can’t get them to budge, they are nailed into the joists
I’ve cut a hole in one and I can get to 3/4 of the floor between those joists.
I’m planning on cutting a hole between every joist, then replace the boards with battens after I’ve insulated. Unless someone has any other ideas or suggests this is a bad idea.

insulating under MDF flooring
Sometimes it is easier to take the ceiling below down, insulate an reboard. Of course this might not be feasible for you.
