We live in a largish house within a ½ mile from the coast and generally any fittings attached to the house (lights, satellite dishes etc) have to be marine grade.
It is currently cement rendered and painted with “Weathershield”. The outside is beginning to look a bit tired now, with some of the paint peeling off, and a few cracks in the render, although I am told they is only superficial. It needs a repaint.
As regards the paint to be used to complete the job, general research on the internet indicates that a product called “Murfill” may be be suitable, especially as it’s used on lighthouses in the UK!
The total size of the area to be painted is 550 square metres approx.
Presumably once the render is repaired it would need a suitable primer and then two coats of “Murfill”.
Does anybody have experience of the suitability of this product.
Kind Regards,

I'm living near the beach myself. The salt air does a number on everything outside. I gave Murfill a try on my own home, and honestly, it's held up way better than anything else I've tried.

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.

I agree that Murfill is very good if you live near the sea. This product is way more durable than simple paints. I did a cosmetic repair to my house because it was old and needed refreshment. I changed the windows and doors because they were old and added link removed as possible spam. Moderator 2. to make the house look cleaner. Also, I have repainted the house using the Murfill. And it turned out to look very good. I am satisfied.
