Tool to remove PVC beads

Hi All,
I am looking for a correct tool to remove plastic PVC beads.
I have seen some strange looking knife to do that but also some de-glazing tool to get to wiggle the bead out from under the rubber gasket.
What are your thoughts?

The thin bladed glazing tools work best and a rubber mallet helps too. Start in the middle of a side bead first and once it pops you can work it out. Do the opposite next then the top and bottom. Mark them 1234 in the order of removal to ensure they go back in the reverse way. They can be a bugger to start.

there will be cheaper alternatives. ive had my one for over 20 years now.

So, with the knife, you gotta have a steady hand for precision, but there's a risk of damaging stuff nearby. On the other hand, the de-glazing tool might need more elbow grease, but it's safer for the surrounding areas.

it just slides in and you lever the bead out. start at the middle.

some really old windows you need to take out the gasket. some old windows are an utter pain to get the beads out and you can damage them but most of the more modern stuff the beads come out quite easily

I'd suggest using a de-glazing tool to remove the plastic PVC beads. It's designed for this job and should be easier than using a knife.

The glazing trade use Don Carlos glazing knives in the main. I bought the Amazon scraper-like glazing tool as I am too tight to fork out £35 for an occasional use tool. Both do the job well.
