Bodge Ceiling Fix

Post by meggo »

The builders in the flat above me were doing flooring repairs and broke my bathroom ceiling (I have just moved too!).
So they repaired it for free but have left the ceiling in a way that still shows where the repair was. Do you think this will be easy to resolve i.e. to have a smooth ceiling again?

Other details:
They left the plaster to dry for approximately 5 days
They initially just painted the plaster but then they have done one coat of paint on the whole ceiling.

Bodge Ceiling Fix

It is a bit of a gash job, typical of someone doing a job they do not want to do. Sadly to rectify it needs a thin skim coat of plaster over the whole ceiling to get it level. It depends on how you sit with the builder as you should not have to suffer any loss by paying to rectify. No one wants to get into a row and it might be an idea to approach your house insurers for advice.
