Don't you just hate it when........
You give someone a price for a job and then they ask...How much without this or how much without that? It ticks me off and I normally ignore them after that.

Don't you just hate it when........
they often have an unreasonably veiw off what things cost and often think by magic they can get what they want by manipulation then when you agree to new plan just think they can slip back in whats removed at now reduced cost

You could modify your approach using mind tactics. Say at the outset you could make this cheaper if they do XYZ or if you cut ABC. Then give them a rough price indication of you doing it all and them doing part. Human nature will then focus on the aggravation for them rather than penny pinching (we are led to believe that is the Scottish way )
