I've been looking at shower panels for a shower enclosure and the one I like most has a straight edge (according to the website).
I saw a curved edge sample where the design of the panel goes around the curved edge but with straight edge samples the inside of the panel is visible on each of the edges.
Does this mean that some kind of protective strip will need to cover the edge so that the inside of the straight edged panel isn't exposed?
EDIT: I've just noticed that the product includes:
Panels and Mermaid Installation kit: adhesive, silicone, internal corner profile, fittings & satin aluminium end caps.
I presume the aluminium end caps will be used to cover and protect the edges.
Is that right?

Straight edged shower panels
I mean where the fitted panels actually start and finish rather individual panels.
Are those edges usually curved or straight?
Sorry for not making it clear!

Straight edged shower panels
Sounds likely; I've fitted quite a few shower panels, some have their edges finished and some need a finishing bead/end cap.

Straight edged shower panels
Thanks.
Which type is more common?
I'll have half tiles in my bathroom. The shower panels will extend slightly beyond the shower enclosure and meet the tiles.
Unless I've misundersood, this means that the horizontal metal trim going along the top of the half tiles will meet the vertical cap on the panels which goes up to the ceiling.
I'm not sure if that will look right.
But then again I'm not sure if the metal trim meeting the curved edge of a panel will look right either

Straight edged shower panels
The product details on the Wickes website for the panel I like says:
Edge detail: Straight edge
Could this refer to how the panels fit together rather than the far edges that extend beyond the shower enclosure?
