If you ever do go the full EV route then the second you order the car (if new) or decide you are getting a full EV, contact your DNO ASAP to get a serve done.
1) Just because you want doesn't mean you can get straight away. Depending on the local infrastructure there may not be capacity ( existing network design / multiple other properties on the same LV transformer / feeder) which would require scheduled works by the DNO (which could take months)
Without the check done before the electrician installs the charger the first you will find out there wasn't the capacity is when you have the car and go to charge it overnight, and the car won't charge because the charger is seeing the volts are too low. Now you have a £40k 2ton ornament sat on your drive until the infrastructure is upgraded / altered.
2) your service may need upgraded (new service cable if you happen to be on a looped service) or something as simple as just uprating the cut out fuse. Either way without the DNO checking you may not find out until the electrician is there to install the charger and can't. Again you end up with an expensive ornament until the alterations can be made (weeks to months)
You may not necessarily have an ornament but you will need to find alternate charging methods (which could be costly)

If you can run an electric cooker you can charge an EV. The software on the charger via CT coils limits the charge on the EV when other loads in the house are applied.
