What a terrible start to summer, we have just had another downpour, my heating keeps kicking in as it is cold, and I am wearing a jumper under a cagoule when I popped out just now. I cannot be bothered to do anything.

Where I am it is 31*C and we just had a rain shower with thunder, I took a 30 minute open air pool swim at 5pm, my £20/day Villa has air con set to 24*C daytime and 22*C night; my knees get cold (wearing shorts) my Lady covers them with a towel; at the local market we get fried fish (Tilapia) and mixed veg, soup and rice for £5. My house in UK is on set back, no gas use, minimum electricity for security; okay flight £840 and petrol at £0.8/litre to add.
I am sick of reading the promises from our political parties, but I will not give up the UK just yet and will be back there by months end to vote, but for whom?

we have had several periods where the weather has been coming from the north this summer and that means the warmest place the air reaches is when it gets to us so sucking heat out as cold air
where as normal is the Gulf Stream or from the south or the near continent where its far far warmer than here
just look at the heat rising when the wind is from any where south off 3 o'clock to 9 o'clock[due east or west]

DWD, would you be suprised to hear that during the long hot summer of '76 that it snowed overnight on the 15th/16th june in the new forest ? only a dusting, but it settled ...although it disappeared within 5 minutes of sunrise.

In sunny France, it isnt! its cold wet and windy, not able to put out any plants yet so they are all inside getting leggy, even with extra lighting over them, worse start to summer for us at least, for nineteen years that we have lived here.
