Is it worth to restore this cabinet?

Post by yartin »

Hi

I have a very old wall cabinet, was in the garage for over 20 years, it had to be moved few months ago. Today, I spent a couple of hours sanded most of the cabinet to bare wood with an orbital sander. My plan is to fill holes decorate and paint to hang on a wall some where in the house as display cabinet. I have attached 3 pics, haven't sanded the doors yet.

Is it worth my effort? If so, what route to take to restore, is fill sand & paint enough? I thought of changing the doors?

Thanks

It's been slow progress, busy with other things and having unvented cylinder installed tomorrow, hot water pump S.Turner noise really annoying for the last 7 years ...

Anyways, doing second round of fillings and to be sanded probably priming next week

I am going for of white probably Dulux Jasmin white satinwood. Any suggestion for of whites with hint of grey?

I don't like paints says faded rustic or chalk, like antiques

I will go to b&q and see what they have
