Hi,
I am looking at buying the Graco Quickshot Ultra to spray paint skirting boards, staircases, doors and trim (noobie spray painter - but handy).
Previously the paint was Dulux oil based satin wood or eggshell. I am slowly transitioning round the house to water based paint, mainly when replacing skirting or doors. The oil based paint is probably over 30 year old and flaking in places so I've been stripping back to wood where loose (and where knots showing through) and sanding the rest to completely remove top layers and get to either bear wood, undercoat or a thin top coat (sanded to 180 grit).
My plan is to spray paint everything as there is a lot to do (and I hate brush painting especially with water based paint).
I was wondering if anyone had any advice with regard to the best sprayable and hardest wearing paint for skirting boards and trim etc and which brands you would or would not recommend.
I was looking at Scuff X - but unfortunately all my woodwork is RAL9001 (light cream), which I don't think I can get in the Scuff X.
A few caveats:
Current paint work is satinwood - so looking for paint with satin finish.
Mixable to RAL9001
Sprayable
Water based
Tough
Hopefully a paint that lays flat, not a fan of orange peel.
Which primer you would recommend for the relevant paint.
For wood work with some finish still on (like the attached photo of the door) I was thinking of using Bullseye 1-2-3 as the primer to ensure good adhesion. Staircase I guess whatever the best primer for the associated paint.
Any thoughts and advice would be much appreciated.
If anyone has an experience of the Quickshot, which FF tips recommended for spindles, skirting and doors would also be appreciated.
Many thanks
Paul.

Spray Painting Equipment and Material Advice
I have not used my sprayer for much it is pretty much redundant now. I got fed up masking and cleaning. Thinning to the right viscosity meant more thin coats. I got into using mini rollers and laid thicker coats more quickly by comparison to spray.
