Hi
Is it worth using skirting cover over old style ones? Any disadvantages?
Pic of skirting cover attached.
Thanks

There' be so many lumps and bumps on the old skirting I doubt you will get a tight fit without lots of faffing about, probably easier to just rip it off and replace as the new stuff will be bigger than the old anyway.

never knew it existed
pretty much as above
assuming walls all over the place and you need to pull in via an area the old skirting is your fixings will need to be say 25mm into the wall
now it may go fantastic till the last fixing then it starts to pull the old skirting off the wall

another point
normal skirting is around 15-18mm possibly more so to cover would need to be perhaps 25mm and the architrave are likly to be perhaps 18-22mm so a problem there

It's not really worth it, easy to take skirting off the wall, I took off skirting few months ago to lay wood flooring and put them back without mush hassle.
