Anyway long story short I bought a garden multitool here in the UK and after a lot of research went for a Hawksmoor 36v one https://www.toolstation.com/hawksmoor-3 ... ool/p69946 which has a hedge trimmer, pruner, strimmer and brushcutter.
Been using the strimmer successfully but have a bit of land just outside the fence that needs something more powerful so thought I'd get the brushcutter blade on and it's pretty much useless. As in on green sticks less than a centimetre its sort of trying to chew them as opposed to the slicing I was expecting?
Now here's the stupid question, how sharp should this blade be? Its a steel blade, has the factory paint on it but theres no evidence of it being sharp, yes there's an angle but it's not sharp at all like a knife, hell I've butter knives that are sharper. There's nothing in the manual about presharpening etc sooooo... is it supposed to be sharpened prior to use or should this not have come like a mower blade and have at least some edge???
