Joist joined, although taken a few hints on here previously. I have a problem.
I am building a porch on the front of my house, however the house downstairs windows and doors all meet the soffit with a wooden lintel spanning over, which also appears to be above the cavity and only partially sits on the back and block courses. Do I continue this, dies that meet regs, I doubt it. If I fit a 150mm cavity insulated lintel at same height as other windows it could interfere with the required plate. So do I go lower on the window height.
If I opened up the roof i could probably get a better idea of what to do but that isn't an option as I'm waiting a while to get someone to build the roof structure and dont really want to annoy him by doing something wrong.
Lintel height????
