Another YouTube video I watched was The Old Way with Nicholas Cage. This 2023 western film was a well worn unbelievable tale with Cage playing himself ( a t*at) and it is all rather silly. Do not bother

We watched Forensics on C5 last night. It was incredibly dull and the plodding investigation of an open and shut case that was unnecessarily drawn out and boring. The whole thing could have been condensed into 20 minutes, do not bother.

I watched Amazon's 2021 film Heart of the Gun, a western. A very poor lumbering story punctuated with a bit of gunplay got to a point where I was speeding through the boring inconsequential bits to the stupid ending. Do not bother.

Another duff Amazon film. We watched The Fort set in Belarus in WW2. It follows four German soldiers who are behind lines working their way back. They come across a Napoleonic-era-style fort in a forested area and decide to camp there. The whole film then is total shite and it seemed to involve them walking around the inside through numerous passages going nowhere. I got so bored I fast-forwarded so much of it if there was a story I missed it. Utter tripe, do not bother.

We watched a duff film on Netflix. Watcher is set in a depressing Bucharest where an American woman has moved with her husband because of his job. The story is overly stretched out and it is boring especially as there is a lot of Romanian spoken without subtitle translation. There was no need to set it in Bucharest, the story could have been set in less depressing places around the world and still been the same. One to miss unless you are a manic depressive and need a top-up of misery.

Mrs D wanted to watch Series 2 of The Teacher on C5, I was not enthused as the first series with Sheridan Smith was very poor and unbelievable. As I though, this school based drama kicks off with all the boxes ticked in the cast and a group of 15/16-year-olds look more like 20 none of whom are endearing characters. Anyone who knows anything about teaching will know that all teaching staff are continually updated on child protection matters and safeguarding so for a teacher to slide off and have a shag with another teacher while on duty is unbelievable to start with, quite apart from Will Mellor's (up there with David Tennant in my poor actor league) coupling with Kara Tointon stretching belief to the fact that someone took a photo of them at it. It is such a lot of rubbish but Mrs D wishes to continue with it—an old Jason Statham film on YouTube beckons.

We watched Who Do You Think You Are after being buoyed up by Olly Murs episode. This week is was Gemma Collins. It was no surprise when we found her grandmother was a schizophrenic and that answered a lot of questions. Err... that was about it.

I watched the first few minutes and gave up, not being able to listen to her dreadful voice or look at her miserable fat face. (I'm not fattist... she's fattest.)

Mrs D wanted to watch the last episode of The Teacher, mentioned above. We thankfully missed it as we were going on holiday but she wanted to see the end (which was so obvious, I had sussed it episode 2). What a lumbering, stupid, and unbelievable story which should be career-ending for all involved. Mrs D had the cheek to say 'Why did we watch that rubbish?'

Slow Horses is decent. I'm now on the third or fourth season. Gary Oldman is very good.
Slough House is an administrative purgatory for MI5 service rejects who have seriously failed a task but have not been sacked. Those consigned there are known as "slow horses", a play on "Slough House". They are expected to endure dull, paper-pushing tasks, along with occasional mental abuse from their miserable boss, Jackson Lamb, who expects them to quit out of boredom or frustration. Life in Slough House is defined by drudgery. Yet the slow horses somehow get involved in investigating schemes that endanger Britain.
A second good watch is The Old Man featuring Jeff Bridges who is also very good.
Dan Chase is a former CIA operative and Vietnam veteran living off-the-grid in Vermont for thirty years. After killing an intruder who breaks into his home, Chase goes into hiding. He rents a room from Zoe McDonald, who becomes his forced partner while on the run.

FBI Assistant Director for Counterintelligence Harold Harper is called to apprehend Chase because of their complicated past during the Soviet–Afghan War. Working alongside Harper are his protégés: FBI agent Angela Adams; CIA officer Raymond Waters; and Julian Carson, a hit-man hired by Harper to kill Chase.

I tried watching Tulsa King but find Sylvester Stallone a terrible actor.

It shows I hardly watch mainstream TV as I have no idea who Gemma Collins or Alison Hammond are! Maybe that's a good thing.

I enjoyed The Old Man but it ended on a cliffhanger, I hope they film a second series. The pairing of John Lithgow and Jeff Bridges has a chemistry. this should be in worth a watch thread.
