Replace Radiator Heating Element

Post by diymarkw »

I need to replace the heating element in this radiator which is dual fuel.
I would like to do it without removing the rad if I can. Will this work if I isolate the two radiator valves to the heating system, remove the heating element at which point the water will drain, and replace.
I have a header tank on the heating system.
This all assumes that the heating element is not too long to drop down.

Many thanks

Close the valves and crack the element loose and take it off the wall tbh

Thats what I thought initially but I had a plumber look at it and he reckoned it could be done without taking it off.
