Todays Birthday is..............

Post by Someone-Else »

I used to "make a thing" of who's birthday it is, (Forum members) but for some reason I forgot and I was beaten to it. (No problem, no worries) I only ever mentioned it if it was a regular posters' birthday. But I noticed (seen it several times since) that when it is a regulars birthday, and they are mentioned, most don't post a reply like "Thanks" or "I had a good day" etc, so I decided a while ago not to bother any more.

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.

i gave up on birthdays xmass and other celebrations about 20 years ago as a purely commercial construct when minimum enjoyment is gained
i look after my friends and family all year round when random gifts efforts or rewards mean far far more and cost virtually nothing in monetary terms but masses in care and value as lots off thought and effort replaces a valueless commercial construct

It is difficult to make a meaningful comment on someone's birthday because, as you get older, it seems to be of less importance. I certainly hate any fuss, and invariably, I am happy to have a meal with my son and his family and usually another separate event with my sister and BIL. So I usually write 'have a great day' knowing in most cases they won't.

I never post my real birthday anyway. I think I always put up 23rd Jan 1968 which is my mates birthday. It's information handy for scammers.

Similar to people posting their real birthdays on FB or when they're about to go on holiday. It's Fuc$ing madness!

Someone-Else, actually "the Scruff" started that tradition, when he left the forum I took over. You then took over when I missed a couple.

Personally I entered this world with no hair and no teeth... I'll probably leave with no hair and none of my own teeth... every year is a bonus, so I celebrate every birthday.

I suspect he has passed away, he was fairly old when I met him at a UHM meet. At the time he had got into pro snooker refereeing from memory.
