Replaced 3 port valve, now no power

Post by Alan Dale »

Hi everybody, I have just replaced a 3 port motorised valve, I replaced the wires one at a time as I took the old ones out but I have no power going to the pump or boiler. I have valves to isolate the water going to the motorised valve and wondered if I could still have an airlock or is it something else. there is resistance on the motorised valve, any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Have you actually checked for voltage at the valve? (If so, what with?)

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.

Thanks for responding. On the multimeter I have 240v on terminal 8 (orange). 75 v ??? on terminal 7 (grey) 240v on terminal 5 (white). Blue terminal 2, earth terminal 3. I can hear the valve working when I turn the power on. I reset the boiler and have power to it now. Thanks

I found the culprit, the plug on the pump had slightly come out, I pushed it back and it all "seems" alright now.
