Rangemaster Grill Tripping RCD!

Hi folks
We have just moved house and now have a wonderful Rangemaster Elan 110 dual fuel cooker. Unfortunately the grill is faulty. As soon as you turn the grill control knob the house RCD trips immediately.
We have replaced both grill elements as we wewre advised that was probably the issue, but the fault still occurs. Any help & advice would be appreciated.

Although it was a good thought that it was the elements that are at fault, you really need to test the cooker for its insulation resistance, an average multi-meter will not work, so you are going to have to call a good appliance engineer in, NOT an electrician. (An electrician will know how to test it, but not all of your cookers quirks) I suggest that you call Rangemaster and ask them to come out (its £254.40, fixed price)
Either that or you keep changing parts at random.

The meter cost me £35, there are now cheaper versions, but you need to know how to use it. They use 500 volt DC, so not for the faint-hearted.
