Just had a knock at the door..............

Firstly it's annoying as we have a doorbell button (That works) then it's the repeated "flap" of the letter box. I decided to answer the door, some bloke who I don't know yapping on his phone (we have a door viewer) Open the door he stops talking on his phone, he then starts to tell me about some blokes were working down the road were they (he hasn't even said hello I am, who ever he is) I don't know, been in all day, and what do I care about blokes down the road?) he then says he needs my help? (I am thinking, I am not a breakdown/ recovery service) he then says they reversed their lorry onto his drive and into the front of his car, then drove off. He now gets to the point, he says "as your cctv looks down the road.........." No mate, my cctv looks at the front of my house, and the front of the drive, it does not look halfway down the road. He walks off.

I get fed up with people assuming that MY CCTV looks at their house / drive no matter where they live in this road, I think some watch too many films, if they are that worried why not get their own cctv or even a camera door bell.

If he had a more engaging attitude you would have been inclined to tell him the same but with a degree of sympathy. Perhaps he might buy his own camera now.

I do not have one, I kind of don't want to know who knocked while I was out (we get minimal unexpected callers) especially if we were on holiday. I have turned off the camera on my Alexa Echo as I do not trust that not to snoop. I appreciate it is the paranoia of the old as I also rip my name and address labels on parcels and post and shred them.
