Cistern Problem?

Post by Tamtoot »

Good day all,
I have recently noticed dark streaks appearing at the back of my toilet pan ( No...not what you may think.!.) - see photo attached, and would like to know, based on your knowledge, if it is the start of problems with my internal cistern components?

Thank you in advance.

Cistern Problem?

No, I get these every few weeks. I squirt bleach under the rim and clean it with an old tooth brush. If I can be arsed I put some bleach in the cistern and flush.

Cistern Problem?

No, not your cistern problem (although you could take the lid off and have a look) It looks more like water stains from what is in your tap water. You are lucky, when ours does it its often a darker colour, but a good toilet cleaner and a stiff brush work wonders.
Oh, don't use bleach, bleach, bleaches things (funny that) you need a proper cleaner to remove it.
Above are my opinions Below is my signature.

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.
