we currently have a home DIY project planned.
Part of the house is a dark purple colour and other are rooms wallpapered.
We are aiming to paint over the wallpaper as i'm aware it could open a can of worms stripping it first. Some rooms have had smaller radiators installed which is exposing non-wallpapered sections, not sure the best way to deal with where the wallpaper stops short of the radiator?
For the darker purple walls we were thinking using Zinsser 1-2-3 primer first then paint it the colour we actually want (it does seem quite an expensive product).
For the wallpapered rooms we aim to stick the paper down in any areas it's slightly lifted then user Zinsser wallpaper cover up then paint the final colour we want. I've used Zinsser products before and they aren't cheap but do seem to work really well.
Would you say this is the best way to deal with it, some say some use white emulsion for the ceilings/walls first then paint the final colour
