Identify partition wall studs

Hi

I have a small partition wall of 810mm wide and about 2400mm from floor to ceiling. I identified screws locations using magnet, pls see photo attached. The distance between column 1 and 2 is about 350mm.
1. Can I assume there are 2 vertical studs?
2. Is there any horizontal studs, where?

Never assume anything.
There may or may not be horizontal studs (You would have thought there would be) as for where, depends on where who ever built it put them. Have you tried knocking?

In an ideal world, the studs are spaced 400mm apart on centres, if this ties up with your magnet findings it would confirm somewhat. There will also be noggins which are horizontally fitted lengths bracing the studs, usually staggered high and low to allow on the same line to allow fixing between the studs. These also give extra points for the drywall screws through the plasterboard. I don't know if this helps

i am assuming the screws are not in a line vertically [very very unlikly]

noggins can be a slightly smaller profile, so may not be used for securing on one or both sides

The spacing between the 2 columns is about 350mm

The masking tapes are exactly where magnet picked the screws

I will see if can find screws into noggins on either side.

That would be right then becuase the 400mm is to the centre line of each stud. A stud is normally around 50mm wide so centre to centre of two studs less 25mm on each will give a 350mm gap. The noggins can be anywhere quite frankly depending on many things like perceived vulnerable wall areas and plasterboard sizes used.

By the way, I am intrigued to know what you are doing with the wall?
