We watched the last of Motherland last night , the Christmas special. Nice blend of humour and pathos with Julia and Amanda's mothers. It was certainly more uplifting than Emmerdale and Corination street my wife had watched previously...

Probably from last year . We only became aware of the programme when we caught one of the third series and watched it on the catch up thing. If you've read my previous posts you'll see I've only just gotten round to watching a 50 year old film so safe to say we can be just a little behind the curve....
An Amandaland spin off could be interesting , I suppose we all know an Amanda...

If you have not watched it yet Beast Games on Amazon Prime is a very good series. An episode a week is being dropped as the 1000 people competing for $5 million has been whittled down to about 60 now (episode 5). It is a wonderful example of human behaviour and the risks and double-crossing they will use to succeed. This blinds them at times from taking some money offered and running...mugs

Yes, it is a typical Stallone role but quite a good story. I just finished the second series recently and enjoyed it all.

It's ok. I got bored with the second season but managed to stick with it.
I'm currently watching American Primeval just now. I'm onto my 4th episode. It's a western. It's really good.

Mrs G is watching that Playing Nice thing too . She said it's ok but nothing special . I normally see some friends on Sunday so have only seen the second episode so perhaps it might make more sense to me if I'd watched it all..
There seemed to be very little on Saturday night so we tried netflix and ended up watching a film called Timetrap , a sci-fy about a cave where time passes very slowly compared to the outside world.. Not a classic by any stretch but watchable enough...

i saw timetrap many years ago, I thought an excellent concept , and reasonably well done
another sci-fi i saw years ago was Coherence, which i thought was really good
An a horror film which i also sort of liked, at least the twist at the end , although it was over the top horror wise - The Invitation

We watched the first episode of American Primeval and I have to say it is very gritty, the attack was most graphic and it was quite realistic. Mrs D descended into her tablet. We also watched 24 Hours in Police Custody which saw a huge bust of crystal meth. The perps were all bang to rights and the ringleader got 16 years. A desperate for money accomplice who helped retrieve the package was given 12 years. I must admit I felt sad for him as he was pulled in by an offer of £15k which he never got. His life and his family have been ruined over his stupid decision to get easy money to clear debts. He was not really a part of the operation, just desperate and stupid.
