Sound-proofing wall ?

Hi all

Some friends live in a maisonette with noise intruding from a difficult neighbour, mainly through one wall.

Any easy methods to sound-proof the main wall between, at least reduce the amount !

Just a single thickness brick and plaster wall, noise is music and some shouting !!!

They saw some acoustic panels, with the decorative ribs, which seem popular but I don't think these are designed to stop transmission through, rather more for sound reduction within a room. Maybe something like some sound deadening fibre matting held against the wall with some boarding covering (like a stud wall ?)

Any thoughts much appreciated.
