Fitting Recess Blinds - Drill too big

Post by chb1994 »

Hi, hoping for some help!

I'm trying to fit some recess blinds but the gap between the top of the recess and where I need to fit the blinds is probably around 1cm, meaning my drill is too tall to fit in the space, on the first try I just ended up going it at an angle. Picture attached

Is there any specific tool I need here?

Thanks!

Drill at a slight angle.
Above are my opinions Below is my signature.

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.

If you have the standard drill, as you can imagine, a right-angle drill attachment might be worth looking into to aid you when trying to get into those hard to reach places. Or else, drilling slightly on an angle as you suggested, might be the way to go as long as you don’t screw up your bores’ alignment. A smaller drill bit will also give you more control in the small space.

Fitting Recess Blinds - Drill too big

what do the fitting instructions actually say??
its very unusual to go less than around 22-25mm off a corner otherwise you would need a special attachment for everyone fitted ??

yes i know sometimes you do go closer but bad design if planed that way
