Hi
My client wants me to re-tile a curved shower using mosiac tile on a back sheet. However rather than tile on top of exisiting tiles they want me to remove these first. Therefore I'll be working back to the original backgroud. Now my questions are:
1) If the background needs to be re-plastered or alike, whats the best way of doing it and using what.
Am I right in thinking you can get shower kits for this? But does this allow you to re-create the smooth curve if the removed tiles create a bumpy surface?
All help appreciated.
Ta

This could be a difficult job and so I hope you have lots of patience.
Many tilers will agree that if you use mosaic tiles in a shower area then it is essential that you tank the area first using a tanking kit, hopefully it will of been tanked previously.
I'd be careful when removing the tiles so that patching up is left to a minimum. If you need to patch use multi finish plaster and then leave it until it is completely dry and then tank over the whole area with a tanking kit.

Thanks for that. Tapping the existing tiles it sounds like some solid wall and plasterboard. Going by the other tiles in the room they were stuck solid and obliterated the plasterboard underneath.
Any top tips for removing tiles?
The sheets of mosiac are a natural stone tile with approx 5cm sq tiles. I'll be off to my local friendly tile flair to check out the tanking kit.
I'll keep you posted with progress.
