Tiling shower

Post by Dr Des »

Hi This is my first visit to this site.

I am about to tile a shower cubicle. I replaced the plasterboard with ordinary 12mm plasterboard. Can I tile straight onto this with waterproof adhesive or do I need to seal it with something first. (Does it matter which side of the plasterboard faces out?)

Thanks

Hi and welcome,

you should of used a tile backer board such as hardibacker or aquapanel, but some pro's just use normal plasterboard and then tank it.

You should really use a tanking kit, or a waterproofing kit-

:welcome:

Ultimate is correct, either tank or aquapanel.
