What I don't know my brother does.
LO peeps, I never used to do much DIY even though I had some useful skills picked up from Dad then I was fortunate enough to retire early. Within months one of my bros (plumber) suggested we could buy a wreck and refurbish it. I had a lot of business skills (accountant) so I coughed up £60,000 and off we went - me, brother and a roofer mate of bro. Within 4 years we had made a nice little pile and I had learned a hell of a lot about property refurbishment. I can now do the following, having done some courses and learned on the job plus what I already knew: Most carpentry work, electrical, tiling, decorating, plastering, kitchen fitting (except worktops), double glazing and have a useful collection of tools. Only thing I won't do is get up on the roof cos at my age (62) I think it would be silly without previous experience. I am still amazed at just how many so called professionals there are around with absolutely crap skills - particularly electricians and carpenters.
