Tiles not bonding in window reveal .

Post by Markone »

What is the secret of tiling upside down i.e top of a window reveal?
Spent yesterday fixing several tiles to the top of the reveal by wedging long bits of wood under them to the window ledge. This morning removed the pieces of wood and down came the tiles as well  Only one has remained firmly stuck. The surface is skimmed plasterboard but previously had well stuck tiles for 20 years. Using Wickes waterproof cement which seems to be o.k everywhere else, in fact I am now on tub no 3 . Thanks in anticipation, Mark.

May be light covering of dust on the plasterboard or tile.

Wipe the backs of tiles.........and slightly dampen the plasterboard :thumbright:

Thanks Only-Me. Wondered if I should prime the plasterboard with Bal Primer or something?
