Re: Bathroom rebuild - Work in progress
Very nice,
its comming along nicely
are you watching sky on that TV,
what remote are you using
all looks very nice, but i'm not so keen on the little tiles on top of the cistern.
You need to look for some alternative - how about a stainless steel lid, or a light oak lid (it needs something with a slight overhang)

Re the top, no way. Mosaics are the same as the niches and the wet room tray. All grouted now and looks superb. the mosaics overhang and are marble so need for NASTY trim
Thank smate :)

I think the mosaics add a certain je ne sais quoi personally, and taste is a personal thing...some have it and some don't..stainless steel in that situation would look right out of place...mcluma wrote:

It might be taking a while but that's an outstanding level of finish and attention to detail there.
I've not seen better from any DIYer and it puts most professionals that I've worked with too shame.

Proper job - love that laser as well highlights the standard you've set yourself
Be interested to know what the total cost would be for this - you must have saved a fair bit in labour and it looks top spec bathroom ... well done

Re: Bathroom rebuild - Work in progress
Hi I have a few questions if you don't mind answering. Where did you get the grohe cistern and which one is it? I was going to go the wall hung route but have been told the frame needs to be supported over the joists and additional framework would need to go in so have decided to go the same route as you to achieve a similar look. Where did you buy the toilet and which one is it?
Did you use the **** heating mat as well as the thermostat? Why didn't you have the thermostat in the bathroom?
How are the Polk ceiling speakers and how are you running them? And controlling them?
Sorry bout all the questions.

Re: Bathroom rebuild - Work in progress
Hi, it is a Grohe is a concealed eau2 cistern
Toilet pan is a RAK metropolitan.. I forget where from.
No I used living heat UFH mats with the **** thermostat. Thermostat is outside as the bathroom / water rated zones require it to be. Also you can set the temps etc without having to go on to the bathroom. It is also a very handy clock!
Polk speakers are superb. They run from a digital in wall amplifier in the bathroom that streams all my iTunes from my mac in the other room... pictures below will show.

Re: Bathroom rebuild - Work in progress
Hi Dave, thanks.. nope no trim at all apart from where it was unavoidable (soil pipe boxing). I used the mosaics as 'trim' to overlap the tile edges. I finished it all off yesterday, will get a few pics over the weekend
RE the shirt.. I thought it was great when I first saw and bought it over 2 years ago... then EVERY sod had it on ! so its now relegated to DIY work!
