We had a laugh at Tag, a 2018 film on Netflix. The story is about a group who continue a game of Tag into later life and spend each May trying to tag one another. It is based on a true story, and although it is a drama, it does have scenes based on reality. Worth a watch

With much advanced advertising, we watched the first episode of the new Harlen Coben series Missing You on Netflix. I thought at first from the characters it was set in the US but then it turns out to be the UK. The main characters are a bit unbelievable and the story takes a while to pick up. This is not a series to watch if you want an authentic feel, it certainly does not do that. I will carry on as Coben's stories are normally good so I may revise this in due course.

Every so often there is a must-watch series that is not something you would want to see but you know you must. An example of this was the excellent Chernobyl a 2019 series on Sky. Sky Atlantic have just launched Lockerbie and we watched the first episode last night. I have to say that it has been done very well the crash scene was harrowing and it was incredibly realistic, it was actually quite horrific. No woke shite at all just an incredible story well told with no punches pulled or dramatic licence. I would say this is a must-see.

We watched the new Lucy Worsley series on BBC2 last night. This first episode is about Jack the Ripper, but it is more about how the media of the day treated the case as a money spinner to sell newspapers. It is an interesting study that sees the birth of the public's fixation on crime stories. It is worth a watch.

I have just finished series 2 of The Old Man on Disney. I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it, the story was excellent, the filming was superb and the cast were brilliant. Jeff Bridges and John Lithgow were such good actors in the lead roles. I read that FX has notcommisoned a third series so I wrote to them asking them to reconsider. You never know.

I wish I had seen that, I wanted to see the series Masters of the Air about B17's crew in WW2 on Apple. I would have binge watched it for free. There is not enough time today.

We watched a charming 2019 film called Rainy Day in New York on Amazon. Written by Woody Allen, it has a sharp script and several stars in it. It is just a pleasant watch with no stupid agendas.

I've been watching Landman starring Billy Bob Thornton. It's written by Taylor Sheridan who wrote the Yellowstone series and the various spin offs. He seems to be involved in everything these days and he's proved himself an excellent writer.

I'm up to the 7th or 8th episode and it's really good. It's on paramount. Not sure where you can watch it. I watch it on Cinema HD app on my Firestick.

Yes, I am enjoying Landman too. If you read the synopsis it might not appeal but it is a very good story and very gritty. I finished Lioness series 2 which is another Taylor Sheridan series. He plays a special Ops sniper in the last episode and as well as a good writer he is a good actor as well.

I watched Lioness first episode but it didn't grip me. It's not very authentic to be honest. I assume its about an elite female fighting force. Seems quite woke and not very authentic.

Being ex forces myself there's no way that would happen in real life. Not being chauvinistic just a realist.

The standards for the British Army fitness tests were lowered for a reason. So females would pass it. I'm 57 soon and from what my son tells me who currently serves I could pass it right now.

Yes, I kind of accept that but if you can push that to one side it is actually quite a good story. Even though the main players are female there are some great action scenes and although a tad woke in concept, the female stars play their parts quite realistically. Taylor Sheridan's sniper role in the final scene in the last episode is worth a replay as a lot get slotted. Mike Kelly plays a good part.

We've nearly finished watching three seasons and two Christmas specials of Motherland and have found it to be one of the better comedies around.

Yes, I liked Motherland but it seemed to go off the boil in the latest series and we drifted.
