We watched that a couple of years ago and it was quite a good series. I thought Clunes played Colin Sutton's part well but the real person has far more to him.

I've finished it now. It was decent. There's a few of these mini series out now.

I watched one a couple of weeks ago called Earth Abides. It starred Alexander Ludwig who played Bjorn in Vikings. That was decent as well.

I found it similar to Hell on Wheels about laying a railroad in the old west. I do not think it is available now but it was a good series.

I have just finished episode 3 of American Primeval on Netflix, it is very gritty. I enjoyed Lucy Worsley's latest episode on 1066, it gave me a different perspective of the Norman invasion. It reminded me of a joke I heard many years ago about King Harold surveying his troops before the 1066 battle. He is shown a horseman who lances a mole and a spearsman who hits a rabbit 200 yards away and he then visits the archers. Show me your best man he asks and a bumbling bloke with glasses is presented. Pick your target Harold says. The archer says see that shed over there and points to a building 20 feet away, I can hit that. He pulls his bow back and fires, the arrow hits a door hinge and ricochets back. They all duck as the arrow flies back over them. Harold says watch that bloke tomorrow, he could have someone's eye out. The guy who told me that joke, probably 50 years ago, told it wonderfully with actions. I recall that earlier in his life he had worked for Short Brothers in the Medway building flying boats. Funny hiw memories are stirred up.

I finished American Primeval last night. It is a good series in the main although the ending was inevitable. The door is not quite open for a series 2 but there are indications it might run again with a different story.

This weeks C4 series 24 Hours in Police Custody was amusing in many respects. An illegal importer of legal marijuana from the US was using two dupes for delivery addresses. It is quite watchable.

I also watched the first episode of On Call on Amazon. This new 2025 series has a similar feel to The Rookie but it is more graphic and realistic. Only 30 minutes long per episode this first series seems quite a good watch

Last year I followed a series called The Night Agent on Netflix. It was very good and full of action and suspense. I was pleased to see series 2 has just dropped on Netflix and the first episode starts at 90 miles an hour and keeps going.Well worth a watch

We started The Crow Girl on Paramount+ last night. It held our attention despite the absurd woke casting and unbelievable relationships. Set in Bristol, I have not heard a Bristolian accent yet, the plot centers on a serial killer. I think it might descend to 50/50 in due course but we are open-minded at the moment and ignoring the stupid elements.

We watched te second episode of Crow Girl last night. Apart from the unlikely and unrealistic character of the husband of the lead female detective she plays her role really well being direct, rude and realistic. She makes it, plus Dougray Scott plays her number two equally well. So far we are held.
