Maybe a daft question but if the door is going back as far as it can and still not closing properly, this is because a clown installed it in the first place?

Almost certainly - the repair plate is too far forwards? Without being there, I can't say.

I screwed in quickly last night as I didn't want to leave it hanging by one hinge and now it's perfectly flat :lol: :dunno:
