Just had this text tho:
Good morning, it's Connor from United Utilities. Just to let you know, we've found the cause of poor pressure in your area to be a technical fault on ourwater network. We're onsite and ready to begin the repairs. Sorry for any inconvenience, we'll have things back to normal as quickly as possible.
How bad is the pressure from the network, and maybe it changed and increased and allowed the 1.5bar change and then dropped again

toying with that as feasible… currently awaiting delivery of a pressure gauge (due today) that will hopefully take away some of the guessing!

So whilst waiting on my pressure gauge delivery (cmon Mr.Amazon man!), the plumber popped by an hour ago with his. We are getting 1 bar downstairs (he put his finger over the tap to prove it), so by the time it is getting upstairs, we’re onto a loser.
Meanwhile, United Utilities text me this morning saying there was a new problem in the area. I’ve spoken to them and they will investigate tomorrow. In the meantime, I’ve checked their website and it says the issue has been fixed in the last hour, so about to try again because the pressure looks better (or is it in my head now… I tried to put my finger over the tap and got soaked
)

Did you bleed the radiators? This might be the issue, start upstairs and systematically bleed the radiators with the fill valve open. Take some kitchen roll to catch the weep when it comes.

See if your gas guy can pop back in.
He needs to depressurise the expansion vessel then fully fill the system leaving it on 0.3 bar or so.
Then if he pumps up the expansion vessel you will have full pressure.
BTW when the water properly goes back on you need to run the cold tap on it's own for 20 mins or so just in case there's any debris in the pipework. You really don't need anything being pulled in to the boiler

So this morning, the water pressure has finally been fixed! Not happy with United Utilities, and haven’t felt like I’ve achieved a lot over the past few days (couldn’t get the boiler working) but I did learn a fair bit. So thanks all.
My plan if it wasn’t sorted today, was to get a water pressure test pump to try and force the water into the system (a bit like this
https://www.amazon.co.uk/318927-Install ... 00KBQPMII/ ) but I hadn’t fully thought it thru (and didn’t even know if it would work!)
We’ve gone from 0.7 bar at the boiler to approx 2 bar tho so all is good.
Thanks again
