Why dont you sink in some 9mm ply, then fix to that?

Yes you had the walls skimmed recently, but given what you intend to use, and the resulting dammage to the wall when it gets pulled off, this is by far the simmplest way all round!


Either that or the peat bogs are going to fill up right quick! :lol:

Bloody hell, how much trouble is it to find the studs, if you look closely you can probably see the impression of them or the nails in the plaster.

Tap along the wall with a small hammer will find the wood in 99% of the cases

Not that easyI am afraid. My house is like the house that jack built. I have found the studs in the wall, however if I was to attach the brackets to them they would roughly be 250mm and 500mm from the edge of the rail to the brackets if that make sense. Now that would look daft.
