I love driving in snow and have never been stuck.
Although we get very little snow in Lincolnshire there has been a couple of occasions where it's been that bad I've simply driven past people queued up that aren't willing to carry on from fear or just inadequate driving proficiency. Them cars have always be front wheel drive with tiny engines.

I've only ever driven my current car once in the snow and that was fun but terrifying. 300bhp split 60% to the rear makes for a very different driving experience in snow.

My old man used to carry bags of fertilizer or potatoes in his boot to put extra weight over the driving wheels, we never got stuck.

We also had a starting handle that could be used to 'wind' the car out of deep snow or ruts.

So what time are you picking me up tonight?? LOL. You are only avoiding me cos I have not been able to go food shopping for weeks since I have no car and it means I cant feed you! :cussing:

best thing I've found is 2 or 4 breeze blocks in the back over the axle.
Soon weighs it down and makes it bite...of course starting off in 2nd rather than first and short shifting also helps.

my way is getting terrible, bloody soft southerners driving like loonies  muppets scare me with their nervous driving

Best time I had was in Southern Ontario over a foot of snow, V8 1979 4Wd truck and bad tyres (tracking went all to heck, after the tracking bar *met* a large rock on a trail (I wasnt driving that day!) made driving more interesting not knowing exactly how it would react

A long time ago last time i saw decent snow. Was on a site job in Stevenage.
Tooks us 4 hours to get from stevenage to the M3, posches, mgs, z3s, all that light rear wheel drive rubbish not going nowhere.

Trusty transit (loaded right up luckily) got through :thumbright:

Artic units at all angles, saw a copper in a freelander trying to pull one of them
