The best person to sort you out is Kitz. She runs one of the best ADSL sites in the country.

Go to the forums and register and then post your problem in the ADSL forum.

http://forum.kitz.co.uk/

Even the ISPs contribute on there, and the Open Reach consult her.

what do you subscribe too Scruff 20MB. Sky told me my line is good and I can get up to 20MB. I have 16 so don't know where this 8.9 is coming from, should be getting 13 or 14 I would have thought.

Yes 20mb, but it can be low sometimes, as Virgin have a control thing where they limit you at certain times.

Follow my advice and check out the Kitz Forum.

Also contact your ISP Help Line UNLESS it is in a far-away country, in which case don't.

looks a good forum dave :thumbright:

Very hard to get a decent tech help line nowadays with the main ISP providers. I had some smaller ones before and they were brilliant but only available 9 - 6, m-f

You will not get much help here because I don't think there are many ADSL boffins on here.

Just a point, when doing speed tests, always use the same server to compare with previous readings. Also, the London server was proved to be most accurate when Virgin carried out tests earlier this year, so if you keep doing them, use the London server.

Once again I ask, have you been to the Kitz Forum,as you will get some advice and good suggestions to help sort out your problem.

Have you phoned your ISP to see if there is a fault on the line

Have you also checked a different PC (you could ask your neighbour to try - but change your password afterwards!)

Also worth trying it with a direct connection rather than a wireless one.
