now I want my 624 to break so I can buy a 625EK

but only because I want soft start on it

why wont tools break when you want them too

one other thing to bear in mind the Trend T7 is it looks a lot like the dewalt range of routers,

and a friend of mine bought a non branded router which an unbadged dewalt again

so a lot of these machines appear to be the same thing rebadged

thats a tough one.. both great prices! you got the link to the tooledup one? i've a big fan of most of the hitachi stuff so i'd have to say go with that.. but i've heard good things about the dw625ek too...

can't directly help you as i havent used a dewalt router and my router is the older m12v

but what i can say is its well built
'the depth stop has fine adjustment that is easy to use
brushes are easy change
the off on switch is large and easy to locate and use

but having said all that the m12v2 is probaly completley different

I have three M12V's and would not hesitate toe recommend them.

If you think I'm flash having three of the buggers, I used to have a well equipped joinery shop!

900 are too big and get in the way a lot on jobs in smaller places. Keep a 700 for most of your work (never seen a 600) and only buy a 900 if you need to joint a breakfast bar (even there you can do the job with a 700 jig most of the time).

If you go DW then go for the DW625 over the DW626 - the 626 is a heavier machine designed more for use in a router table, i.e. a shop machine. The 625 is one of the more compacyt routers around for the power. I have two (well a DW625 and an older Elu MOFF177e). I used to have a third but some slimy git nicked the older MOF177e - and it was all of 20 years old (so I know they are durable)

If I remember correctly the MOF177e was a 1/4" jobby. Very good though.

I'd like to get hold of one of them American routers that have a proper handle on one side so they can be safely used single handedly.

I gave into my emotional side and having read many great reports on Elu, a favourite of mine picked up a MOF177E, jeez it's BIG. In excellent condition. I've never had such a monster
