yes i agree big al
i own a lot of dewalt stuff.
never ever ever had an issue with dewalt stuff breaking (apart from batterys one time )
as i see it if someone can break a dewalt tool they will just as easily break a makita or bosch tool aswell/
Why I always buy cheaper brands

buy cheap buy twice.....
if you have the right tool for the job its half the battle
makita seem to be getting a good name just now and i tend to go for their stuff
big jump for me from marksman to makita lol
steadily upgrading my handtools from cheap stuff to stanely etc
it all really depends on usage and what your capable of i suppose

As a few have said, IMO aswell, you get what you pay for, if you are a diyer then get the cheap stuff but not too cheap, anything upto B&D, or even Bosch to the point, i like makita, not all that expensive towards some and dam fine gear, never had a problem with them and used them a lot.
I think its best to buy something half decent if you can afford it than some cheeap tat, even if you only need it dor a quick job as with all DIY you will need it some time again, buy a tool, say a grinder for £30, if you only use it 4 times a year far enough it mite last 5 years, but if you go to £50 then it willlast a life time with only new brush`s.
You get what you pay for as always.
