Thanks for all your replies, and I'll comment on what some of you have said!......I had planned on putting the silica gel in with the tools........I have already ordered the box, so too late to think about a wooden one...I don't suppose the tools wil be warm when I put them in the box (interesting point, panlid).....and I will take a look at the dehumidifier!!.....Thank you all again!

2x2x4 isnt that big at all. Sure theres nowhere you could squeeze them in? Under the bed?? :lol:
Ms Gadget is complaining about the petrol driven cement mixer in the sitting room, so I need to move stuff from the kitchen to the outside. Then I can move the cement mixer in to the kitchen, hence the question about the metal box.

PS, I lied about the mixer...........it's electric driven!
