Hard life, innit, what with your Mrs giving you earache and us taking it...
Still, we'll make sure you get it right in the end. Tell us in the unlikely event that UHM's diagram dosn't work for you.

hi guys ,
still no joy its really p*ssing me off and so is the missus , all it was just a simple task i said to her (
) , the diagram i received from the UHM was no good to me , i didnt understand the wiring of 2 switches when all i want to do is rewire one double switch , right where shall i start , i have a double switch at the top of the stairs , a double switch at the bottom of the stairs and a single switch at the otherside of the hall downstairs , so depending which way the switch in the hall has been pressed the double switch at the bottom of the stairs does not turn the light off downstairs in the hall but will work the light upstairs , i hope i have explained this ok !!

don't worry, we can try again.
if you can, take a picture of each switch and make sure we can see the wires fully (from the back of the box)
explain which each one is and lets see if we can tell from the pics.
ill be back in about 45 mins.

your pictures are blurry and not showing the cables form the back of the box. if i see that clearly i can then tell weather you have crossed the cores over. it's a shot in the dark but worth a try

hi rich , i am really glad you have got back in touch , to be honest mate i dont want to take the box off , dont want to make it any worse than it is , at least we have lights that work but only if a ***ked up way (
) , i think more than likely the cores have been crossed over , i thought i did all the different ways but obviously not (
)

i didn't mean disconnect them, just take a picture as you did before but clearer and a little further away so i can see the wires as they come into the back of the box
