What about people who claim british citizenship due to not been able to go back to their country of birth. This can be political, racial or many other reasons. They say that they will be murdered if they set foot in their former country. A year later they go back to the country for 3 months to visit relatives

the rules for political asylum are far from easy to comply with they make it very difficult for genuine people to argue there case and be accepted

i would be interested to see the actual case of someone in fear of there life who went into the "danger area " for 3 months proven as fact rather than another heavy handed attempt to stir things up by the media or people with evil intent

I know several asylum seekers who are decent people who are living in absolute poverty where they have nothing apart from a roof over there heads. Yet when you bump into them they invite you into there house for a tea. Really nice folks.

Digressing a tad, and on a slightly different angle, I got a letter today from the 'Immigration and Borders Control' about employing illegal immigrants, and that I could be fined an unlimited amount for employing said people!

I see it all around me, the tabloids only confirm what is going on, but they have taken thier time doing it.

Before I set up on my own I use to sub, and I worked for a man, who would pick me up, and on route, would stop off at a road, and pick a handful of immigrant labour.

Yes, we have our own able bodied unemployed, so its down to the goverment to stop thier money if they dont find work, simple, if they made them work, then there wouldnt be a need for immigrant labour.

Its not just the immigrant labour thats the nub, its like what was mentioned above, they come from war torn countries, and come here, the majority stay on beneifits.
Mum and dad, with thier 4 kids for example, cant speak a word of english, get all the benefits for them and thier kids,the chances are the parents wont work, so we are paying benefits out till say the oldest one leaves school and gets a job and works.
This is only one family, multiply that by thousands.

My council tax has hit the roof, cause I live right on heathrows doorstep, and we are paying for them, I live 10 mins away from the council offices, and any given day you can walk in and see the asslym seekers with thier bags arriving from terminal 3, waiting to be sent to the DSS and get some sort of lodgings.

Its just makes me mad, that our Goverment is so stupid they cant see what it is doing to our country.

Here's a fact for you B-A, this country is going to hell in a handcart, no one can stand up and say that the country is better now than it was 10-20-30 years ago, it's not.

Unless steps are taken NOW, there will be a time of civil unrest coming and not too far away. British people can only stand so much crap before they fight back.

The reason our children only see fit to fly desks is that we failed them in dropping practical subjects at school:- Metalwork, woodwork, cooking and so on. There is just as much if not more money in plastering as in "computer programming" but plastering comes with a lot more pride and is a trade for life, youngsters need to be taught that there is nothing wrong in being proud of their work, there is nothing wrong in coming first in a race, there is nothing wrong with competitive sports and so on.

We have turned the country from being a small island full of proud, skilled people into a dumping ground where 14 year old girsl are "proud" to be pregnant and dont even know which idiot the father is. We have the worst under age pregnancy rate in the whole of Europe, i find that very embarassing.

I see nothing wrong in genuine asylum seeking, but i also believe that only a tiny tiny percentage of seekers are genuine, the rest are just sponging, thieving, gang-running scum coming here to tell us how much they hate our way of life.

We need to take a leaf out of the Australian or US book of immigration:- there is no way you are coming in unless A-you have funds behind you and/or B: you have a job already lined up or bring a much needed skill with you. Everyone else can f*ck off, we dont need you.

Cut the benefits now, train OUR children first to fill OUR jobs, and then if there are any unfilled jobs look elsewhere. If they know life without a job is going to be rough (not as it is now) then our offspring will be only to eager to learn a skill or trade.

Came back to England, had the baby, then went back to turkey for a few months. Now shes imported him back here....

My thoughts exactly Hitch, if they are able to go to the dole office to sign on, then they are able to give a few hours each day in return for thier dole money.

Cleaning graffitti for one, cleaning canals, parks, trees, grass etc, they would soon get off thier ar5es and get a job then

Regards to your story about the turk etc, i too know someone in the same situation, but the one that gets me is, and I cant understand why the DSS dont get the men to pay, but a woman I sort of know has 5 kids by 4 different men, just heard the other week, she's pregnent again, by a assylum seeker, who wants to marry her as well.
So that is 6 kids by 5 different men, no fathers around, except for the latest one, but he will be off as soon as he gets his papers, yet the state is still paying her.

Dave, I agree with you 100%, the goverment needs to get a grip, our NHS is strapped to the limit, our care homes for the elderly are closing down, we have a lack of housing, hardly any training for our kids in the trades.
Yet, our goverment are more concerned about other people than thier own british people who the majority have worked, payed into the NHS, taxes etc.

read it in one of the papers cant remember which one, iether the times or one of the other papers like that, i wont listen to what people say unless they have the facts on paper, like whats been said, why shouldnt we sort out our own house before letting people in
