Hi,

Thanks; I'm pleased both pictures are now visible on my home page. I've asked my chum David to check all the other pages for full quota of pictures as well before I add more otherwise I'll quickly lose control?

The Brough is indeed a fine old bike Dave and I had the privilege of putting it through its paces. This is the smaller Brough but many years ago I had chance of a big 1,150cc Brough Superior this being the longest bike I've ever straddled; at that time the asking price was £35 which was out of my reach; I wonder what the asking price these days would be for the same bike? In those days these big bikes could easily break a leg if someone tried to kick them off forgetting to retard the ignition; I've been thrown over the handlebars more than once by being forgetful. A number of the big singles had "Valve lifters" fitted which was a lever located on the handlebars; operating the lever released compression by slightly lifting the exhaust valve allowing the piston to be eased over top dead centre (TDC). Getting it wrong resulted in a vicious kickback. :cb :cb :cb

I hope my new website is settling down then I can continue adding my stories; I'm currently putting together the Graduate lathe story and will complete it shortly.

Kind regards, Col.

Perhaps you should consider youtube.
Above are my opinions Below is my signature.

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.

 If gloom had a voice, it would be me.

:idea1: Click Here for a video how to add/change pictures

Hi,

Thanks for your suggestion regarding YouTube s-e; I think it could be a good option for me longer term but I'm only just breaking away from my dinosaur stage and my new website will be useful to me. :thumbleft:

It's slow going but I'm building my new website; spell checking takes ages because the spell checker misses so many errors; I've just added the Union Graduate restoration story and my chum David has kindly sent me pictures of his delightful Lorch Schmidt watchmakers lathe which I'll be very pleased to add to my Lorch story; my website is coming together nicely considering at the beginning of this week I still hadn't a clue as to how to create a website; I learn quick with a little help but then I'm stubborn.

Kind regards, Col.
