Re: Double side extension 2012:- 53sq metres of floor
Hello there one and all
Sorry for the delay in up dating but work and then summer with the nice weather has delayed progress as I have been enjoying the dry weather, that's my excuse anyway
Progress since last up date, both up stairs rooms carpeted and kitted out need a couple of other bits still, new wardrobe in master bedroom, a few finishing bits in the en suite including the flooring/mirrors etc, started to laminate in the porch and painted it, fitted out my garage for storage.
Also applied for planning for my decking as it sits around 160cm high
another bill £172....
I will keep up dating now the weather is changing as hopefully a few more bits will now start to get completed, hoping to get downstairs WC all fitted out next week and in use, plus the flooring in there sorted...
Pictures are here:

Re: Double side extension 2012:- 53sq metres of floor
Hi All
A further up date on progress....
Rest of windows replaced in order to match the newly installed extension windows biggest job being the Bay which is pretty large..
Doors replaced downstairs with Dordogne doors (see pic), they are a beautiful door but are very very heavy when moving in and to fit and shape...
A couple of little seats put in the porch for shoe storage etc
Bay roof to have a look at and fix, slight leak.
Planning has now been authorised for my decking area to the rear, see pic for current access
Decking hopefully completed in the next 3/4 weeks.
Stairs, hall and landing being painted as I type along with the newly installed spindle staircase, pictures to follow
Also next week having the rendering removed and a smooth textured finish applied that does not suck the damp in onto your walls, requires no painting also has insulation within the mixture, once I have the name I will post, a couple on the road have had it done and the finish looks great and very smart.
Jobs remaining are now becoming less and less which is great as the cash is getting less and less
Thanks for following more to be added in the next couple of weeks as other jobs get started and finished..
See pics..

Another quickie
Just been looking through the last couple of pages and I have noticed I have forgot to add the pictures of my compact downstairs WC, see pics below
Dordogne door with glass for kitchen picture added.
Also see small picture of decking plan.

Re: Double side extension 2012:- 53sq metres of floor
Afternoon All
A few more snaps of the finishing touches, happy now i'm getting to the end of the project, only been 2 years at the January 2014
where has that time gone?
Right, matching interior door without glass and pic of handle used, new spindle staircase added and the hallway painted, now decided last minute to have the outside finished off as I was getting fed up of the sight of it been unfinished, I have not gone with pebble dashing, I have decided to go with a product called Fibrocem which I believe originates from Germany and does not pull moisture in to create damp patches, once on never needs painting so another job less every few years, you pay more for it but you get what you pay for....
I will add the finished view of the outside Friday when the job should be fully finished, as long as scaffolding has gone...
Cheers for following

Just a quick couple of pictures of the front of the house, scaffold still up so not a perfect view of the finished article but you get the idea...
I will add the rear pictures tomorrow, really has put a nice, smart finish to the build.
Cheers for looking

Afternoon All
The next project which is the decking gets underway tomorrow, unsure how many days it will take as the area is fairly large, with some existing bits to work around that may not be so straight forward, cannot wait to see this area finished as I think it will really finish the back of the house off...
Picture from Tuesday/Wednesday....

A few more pictures on the decking, moving along nicely now, everything completed apart from some trellis for the front garden side...
Really pleased with it to be honest, much bigger area than I was expecting, looking forward to next summer already if we get one that is
Cheers for following, the finished article pictures I will add tomorrow...

Looks good, but quick Q - have you spaced the board attached from the house away with washers or some product?
