Re: Deleted
Back to Scruffs original post, Ccleaner will wipe the 'free space' on your drive, which means that it will wipe the data that you have already 'deleted'.
http://www.piriform.com/docs/ccleaner/u ... disk-space
It warns that it will take a long time, depending upon the size of the HD and the amount of 'free space' on it.

Oh...one more thing.
If you don't want to build a WHOLE machine from scratch - barebones is a good option. Look at Shuttle PC's for an example.
Small formfactor and pre-built.
Add CPU, Memory and HDD - install OS, job done!
Some cracking little boxes too.

So a list of recommended parts to build from scratch.
What would I be looking at, money no object. Can't take it with you as Razor keeps reminding me.

Very big question.....
- what do you want to do with it?
- Desktop or laptop
- If desktop - what sort of size, are you after compact Small form factor or big tower?
- Are you happy to build from scratch?
- What operating system? (please say Win7....)
We have the power..... :D

Re: Deleted
If it heats the office that would be a bonus.
Desktop/tower matters not from a space angle
Mostly use it for shuffling thousands of manuals around, uploading, downloading.
And photo/video editing, don't do games.
And about 500 emails in and out every week.
I have a load of VHS I want to transfer to dvd at some time so a good writer/program would be essential.
Is win7 better than vista.

Believe it or not we used to connect water cooling systems to the big computers, mind you a desktop was about the same size as a Dutch Barn in them days.Razor wrote:I think we could trust Scruff with a water cooling kit couldn't we

Can you put some preferred makes/model to the list.
I have a Logitech G9 mouse
And a Dell 22" monitor.
